I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I have a Master's degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy. I have been practicing for over 7 years and have significant experience with complex trauma, court/cps involved cases, and high conflict situations. I am a Certifed Family Trauma Professional and Certfied EMDR Clinician which means I have speciality training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and trauma. My primary focus is children, adolescents and families. However, I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients from 3 to 83.
I frequently work with individuals and families with a wide variety of challenges. Some clients are simply looking to find a place that they can take a deep breath and be in a place to address things that they want to work on. While others have severe symptoms or complex issues that are frightening and overwhelming where they need help sorting out thoughts and feelings while learning how to manage and navigate the challenges.

I believe that we are all capable of change and have the ability to lead full and healthy lives if we choose. Sometimes, we need help learning the tools we need to make those changes and explore emotions that we don't know how to manage or even know we have sometimes. Change is often scary or uncomfortable and I help my client's navigate their own personal journey at their own pace. It is important to me that my client's feel safe, supported and valued. I tend to be directive, open, genuine and sometimes add a little humor. Since I see clients of all ages, my office is comfortable, bright and cheery. My style is very down to earth and interactive.
I believe every one is unique so I don't believe in a one size fits all approach. I thoroughly enjoy learning and I frequently attend specialized psychotherapy training to expand my knowledge in order to help my clients. I work with clients that have a very significant trauma background. I often use play, attachment, dialectial behavioral, and family systems therapies in sessions. I have found EMDR an amazing tool for trauma, depression and anxiety and typically client's get a tremendous amount of relief over time. If interested in this type of treatment please ask.
